Let's traverse the vast and still wild areas of Romania's mountains. While hiking you will have a great chance to explore true beauty of our country. You will admire scenic landscapes, discover the most remote villages and get to know local people's hospitality. Our tour combines hiking challenges and relaxing stays in comfortable hotels.

Day 1

We will pick you up from the airport/your hotel in Bucharest and take to Transylvania. The drive takes about 2,5hours. You will check in in Bran and spend there 5 nights. If there is time after your arrival at Bran, you will do a short hike in the afternoon.

Day 2

This day is dedicated to explore the Bucegi National Park. We start from Bran and hike to the scenic Batrana Saddle located at altitude of 2300m. Then, you will cover gentle distance and reach Pestera Hotel situated in the middle of the National Park.
Distance 11 km Ascent 1000 Meters, Descent 700 Meters, duration 6 Hours
Note: for this day only you will need a “1 day backpack” large enough to carry personal stuff for one overnight. Don’t forget swimming suit– hotel has indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna

Day 3

The Ialomita Cave and the Monastery inside the cave are the biggest attraction of the 3rd day. You will check out from Pestera Hotel and experience another journey into pristine nature of Romania. You will visit the Ialomitza Cave and then you will continue your trip to Strunga saddle, from which you will go down and go back to Bran. Overnight in Bran.
Distance 10 km, Ascent 400 Meters, descent 800 meters, duration 6 hours

Day 4

After breakfast, you will head toward Magura Village. You will drive 10 minutes to the head of the trail. The hike starts with a gentle ascent. You will walk along scattered households and after about 45 minutes you will see the tiniest village of ” Maguricea” with several houses on the top of the mountain. After another 2 hours of hiking, you will reach the peak from which magnificent panorama views are stretching. Short steep descent and gentle sheep trails will lead you to Magura Village. In the afternoon, you will visit Bran Castle which is a landmark of Transylvania called Dracula's Castle. It is one of the best medieval structures in Romania. Overnight in Bran.
Distance 10 km, ascent 300 Meters, descent 300 meters – Duration about 5 hours

Day 5

You will visit the greatest attractions of Transylvania: the Rasnov Fortress, Brasov town and optionally you will take a 2-hour trip to the Tampa Peak situated in the heart of the city offering fantastic views over the city and its surroundings. The Rasnov Fortress was erected in the 13th century by German Teutonic Knights. This impressive building attracts many tourist and gives a great view over the surrounding mountains. Brasov is the most important medieval city. You will see the Black Church, the main square, the old defense walls during a pleasant walk along its remarkable corners. Overnight in Bran.

Day 6

Hiking in Piatra Craiului National Park
After breakfast, you will drive to the Zarnesti Gorges, from where you will start your trip. You will hike along the tight lime stone valley and after about 3 hours you will reach Curmatura chalet. You will have lunch there. After that, you will go down about 2.5 hours. The car will be waiting for you to transfer you back to Bran. Overnight in Bran.
Distance 9 km, ascent 600 Meters, descent 600 meters – Duration about 5 hours

Day 7

You will go back to Bucharest. However, if you have time, we can provide one more short hike before leaving Bran.
The drive back to Bucharest takes about 2.5 hours.
